AFT Standards & Scoring Chart (2026)
Use these AFT standards and Army Fitness Test scoring charts for all five events: max deadlift, hand-release push-ups, sprint-drag-carry, plank, and two-mile run. Find points by age group and M/C or F category, including the 60-point event minimum and Combat 350 / General 300 thresholds. The tables come from the official AFT score tables effective June 1, 2025.
AFT Standards: Army Fitness Test Pass Requirements
The AFT uses the same five-event, 500-point scoring system for every Soldier, but the passing total depends on the Soldier's standard: 350 for combat specialties and 300 for general Soldiers. Every event still requires at least 60 points. To see what your own results are worth, calculate your AFT score using the same tables on this page.
The 60-point floor applies to every event. A total of 350 with one event at 55 points is a fail, because each event must reach 60. When you read an AFT standards scoring chart, check the weakest event first, then the total.
Army Fitness Test Pass Standards Comparison
| Standard | Total | Minimum per event | Applies to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Combat | 350 | 60 | Combat AOCs/MOSs (sex-neutral) |
| General | 300 | 60 | All other Soldiers (by sex & age) |
Record army fitness test scores are kept for readiness. Because AFT standards scoring is age-normed, a Soldier's score can change when they move into a new age group even with identical performance — another reason to check the AFT standards against your current age group. For promotion-related scoring rules, see the current Army promotion guidance.
What You Can Do on This Page
On this page you can: look up your army fitness test score for any event and age group, compare M/C and F AFT standards side by side, find the 60-point pass line on every scoring table, understand how the Combat 350 and General 300 thresholds work, and download the official AFT standards as PDF or machine-readable data. The army fitness test calculator applies the same tables to a full set of results. Every number here traces to the official AFT standards scoring chart.
How to Read the Army Fitness Test Score Table
Reading an army fitness test score table is straightforward once you know four things: your age group, your category, the event, and the direction of scoring.
- Age group: The tables split Soldiers into ten groups: 17-21, 22-26, 27-31, 32-36, 37-41, 42-46, 47-51, 52-56, 57-61, and Over 62. Find your age on your last birthday and use that column.
- Category: The official AFT standards tables publish three columns — M (male), C (combat), and F (female). This page shows M/C combined because male and combat-standard Soldiers read the same column in the AFT tables; your column is determined by the standard you test under. C is the sex-neutral, age-normed combat standard.
- Event: Every event has its own table. The max deadlift is scored in pounds, the hand-release push-up in repetitions, and the sprint-drag-carry, plank, and two-mile run in minutes and seconds.
- Direction: for the deadlift and push-ups, more is better: a heavier lift or more repetitions earns more points. For the sprint-drag-carry and two-mile run, faster times earn more points; for the plank, longer holds earn more points. The highest scores sit at the top of each table.
The 60-point row is the passing line on every AFT standards scoring table — anything at or above it counts toward your total. Concrete example: a 24-year-old Soldier in the M/C column opens the 22-26 age group on the hand-release push-up table and reads down until 37 repetitions lands on the 80-point row. The same 37 push-ups score differently in another age group, which is exactly why you must always use your own age group column.

How Each Event Is Scored
The complete AFT standards scoring chart for every event, age group, and category is below, with the 60-point line highlighted on every table.
Max Deadlift (MDL, pounds)
The deadlift is scored from your heaviest successful set of three repetitions. Higher weights earn more points. In the 22-26 M/C group, 350 pounds earns 100 points, 190 pounds earns 70 points, and 150 pounds earns the 60-point minimum. The deadlift is a strength gate: it is where combat Soldiers are most likely to clear the standard.
Hand-Release Push-Up (HRP, repetitions)
Scored by total correct repetitions in two minutes, with hands released off the ground at the bottom of every rep. More reps earn more points. In the 22-26 M/C group, 61 push-ups earns 100 points, 37 earns 80, and 14 earns the 60-point minimum.
Sprint-Drag-Carry (SDC, minutes:seconds)
Scored by total time for five lengths of the 25-meter lane. Faster times earn more points. In the 22-26 M/C group, 1:30 earns 100 points, 1:53 earns 80, 2:05 earns 70, and 2:31 earns the 60-point minimum.
Plank (PLK, minutes:seconds)
Scored by how long you hold a proper straight-line plank. Longer holds earn more points. In the 22-26 M/C group, 3:35 earns 100 points, 2:30 earns 80, 1:58 earns 70, and 1:25 earns the 60-point minimum.
Two-Mile Run (2MR, minutes:seconds)
Scored by total time. Faster times earn more points. In the 22-26 M/C group, 13:25 earns 100 points, 15:38 earns 90, 18:23 earns 70, and 19:45 earns the 60-point minimum.
Why the Army Scores Events This Way
The AFT standards scoring chart gives every event the same 100-point maximum, so no single event can carry the total. A Soldier who deadlifts 350 pounds but scores near the floor on the run still needs the run to pass. The 60-point minimum on every event requires training across strength, muscular endurance, work capacity, core stability, and aerobic fitness. Under the combat standard, no event can be skipped and no single skill can offset a failing event. If one event is dragging your score down, the AFT training plan shows how to rebuild it.
Age Groups and M/C vs F Standards
AFT standards change by age and by category. The official AFT standards tables publish M (male), C (combat), and F (female) columns; this page combines M and C because male and combat-standard Soldiers read the same column, while F sets expectations for female Soldiers. For a full walkthrough of each event and its scoring, see the AFT event guide.
Why the AFT standards scoring chart matters for your unit: the same performance scores differently by age. A 19-year-old and a 45-year-old who run the same time earn different points, so comparing raw event results across ages is meaningless — always compare army fitness test scores using your own age group column.
The Full Scoring Chart Structure
The official AFT standards scoring chart is published in nine sections: one table for the max deadlift, one for the hand-release push-ups, and for the sprint-drag-carry, plank, and two-mile run, the scoring table is split into two parts — a 60-100 point table for passing-level scores and a 0-59 point table for sub-passing scores. That split matters when you read the AFT standards: the passing-level tables run from 100 points down to 60, and the sub-60 tables continue the same event from 59 down to zero, so every recorded performance still earns points. The deadlift and push-up tables cover 0-100 in a single chart. On every table, each row is one point value, and each column is an age group with its M/C and F values. Instead of reading every row, you can use the AFT score calculator to convert one result at a time.

Worked Scoring Examples
Example 1 — 24-year-old Soldier, M/C category: deadlift 190 lb (70 pts), 37 hand-release push-ups (80 pts), sprint-drag-carry 2:05 (70 pts), plank 2:30 (80 pts), two-mile run 18:23 (70 pts). Total = 70+80+70+80+70 = 370 points. Every event clears 60, so this Soldier passes under both the Combat 350 and General 300 AFT standards.
Example 2 — what a weak event does: the same Soldier runs 20:30 instead of 18:23. Per the 22-26 M/C table, that two-mile time falls below the 60-point row, so the run scores under 60 points — and the army fitness test is failed no matter what the other four events earn. This is why the 60-point floor, not the total, fails most Soldiers.
How Scoring Direction Works on the AFT standards chart
Every AFT standards scoring chart has one of two directions. For the max deadlift and hand-release push-ups, read up the table: higher values earn higher points. For the sprint-drag-carry, plank, and two-mile run, read down: lower (faster) times earn higher points. The 100-point row is the maximum target; the 60-point row is the pass line; rows below 60 are failing scores that still record points for your record.
Scoring Below 60 Points
What happens below the 60-point line? The AFT standards scoring chart continues below 60, so a Soldier who cannot reach the minimum still receives a recorded score. That score matters for record-keeping and the retest timeline: a failed army fitness test — any event under 60, or a total under 350/300 — starts the 90-day (Regular Army) or 180-day (Reserve) retest clock. Sub-60 scores also show leaders exactly how far a Soldier is from the AFT standards, which drives reconditioning training under FM 7-22.
2026 Updates and Effective Date
These AFT standards are effective June 1, 2025, the date the AFT became the official test of record. The AFT standards scoring tables were published with the Army Fitness Test Score Tables and remain current through 2026. The updated combat standard took effect for Active Component Soldiers in designated combat MOSs on January 1, 2026, and for Reserve and National Guard Soldiers on June 1, 2026. We last verified every number on this page in August 2026 — if the Army revises the AFT standards, we update this page and the calculator within the same release. The 2026 picture is simple: the scoring table stays fixed to the June 2025 publication, while the dates around it — the Combat standard deadlines — are what have actually moved. If you see an older ACFT scoring chart anywhere, it does not apply to current AFT standards scoring — the ACFT retired on May 31, 2025. Bookmark this page for the current AFT standards. One more point on timing: the 2026 season is the first full year where the AFT standards scoring chart is the only table in play for record tests. Units that still circulate ACFT-era scoring references are out of date. The 350 line on this AFT standards scoring chart is the number combat arms should already be training to.
Data Sources and Downloads
Every value on this page comes from the official Army Fitness Test Score Tables (effective 2025-06-01), Army Directive 2025-06, and ATP 7-22.01. You can download the official PDF from Army.mil, or use the machine-readable AFT standards data (JSON/CSV) that powers this page and our calculator — free, with the source cited on every export.
Alternate Events Scoring
Soldiers on permanent profile can substitute an alternate aerobic event for the two-mile run: the 2.5-mile walk, 5,000-meter row, 12,000-meter bike, or 1,000-meter swim. These events are scored pass/fail rather than on a points curve — a GO earns 70 points toward the AFT total, per the official AFT score tables. Eligibility, GO/NOGO standards, and profile-specific rules are covered on the dedicated alternate events page.
Using the AFT standards chart vs the AFT Calculator
The AFT standards scoring chart and the calculator use the same data. Reading the AFT standards chart shows how AFT standards scoring works and where you sit within your age group; the calculator returns your total, pass margin, and weakest event from the same tables — you can try the AFT score calculator with the same data. Both use the exact same AFT standards, so the answer is the same either way.
Per-Event Scoring: What Each Point Level Requires (22-26 M/C)
To make the AFT standards scoring chart concrete, the following shows what each point level requires in the 22-26 M/C column of the official AFT standards tables:
Max Deadlift: 100 points at 350 lb, 70 points at 190 lb, and the 60-point passing line at 150 lb. The deadlift table is the coarsest of the five — some mid-range rows are not published — so a 250 lb lift earns somewhere between 71 and 89 points by the closest published row.
Hand-Release Push-Up: 100 points at 61 reps, 90 at 48, 80 at 37, 70 at 26, and the 60-point line at 14 reps in two minutes.
Sprint-Drag-Carry: 100 points at 1:30, 90 at 1:43, 80 at 1:53, 70 at 2:05, and the 60-point line at 2:31.
Plank: 100 points at 3:35, 90 at 3:03, 80 at 2:30, 70 at 1:58, and the 60-point line at 1:25.
Two-Mile Run: 100 points at 13:25, 90 at 15:38, 70 at 18:23, and the 60-point line at 19:45.
The same AFT standards scoring chart values change for every other age group and for the F column, so the full tables are the reference, not a single example.
Why the AFT standards scoring chart Splits into Two Tables
The official AFT standards scoring chart publishes timed events in two parts: a 60-100 point table for passing-level scores, and a 0-59 point table for sub-passing scores. The split exists because the pass line matters more than the fail detail: leaders need to see exactly where 60 points sits, while the sub-60 table exists mainly for records and reconditioning. When you read the AFT standards scoring chart, treat the 60-100 table as your primary reference and the 0-59 table as the record of how far a failing score sits below the line.
Age Group Walkthrough: Same Performance, Different Points
Because AFT standards scoring is age-normed, the same two-mile time earns different points in different age groups. A 13:30 two-mile run scores near the top of the table for a Soldier in the 57-61 group but scores lower for a 22-year-old, who is measured against younger norms. That is intentional: the AFT standards compare you against your peers, not against every Soldier who ever ran. Always use your own age group column when you check the AFT standards scoring chart, and never compare raw scores across ages.
Using the AFT standards scoring tables to Set Training Targets
The AFT standards scoring chart is also a training tool. Pick a target score — say 80 points on every event for a 400-point total — then read the AFT standards chart backward to find the performance each event needs: for the 22-26 M/C group, that is a 190-plus pound deadlift target, 37 push-ups, a 1:53 sprint-drag-carry, a 2:30 plank, and a two-mile run at or under the 80-point time. Train until your weekly dress rehearsal meets every target on the AFT standards scoring chart, and test day becomes a confirmation instead of a gamble.
A Female-Soldier Example (F Column)
A female Soldier reads the AFT standards scoring chart exactly the same way, but in the F column of her age group. The F standards set different performance levels than M/C, so the same 2:00 sprint-drag-carry scores differently. The point of the F column is fairness: the AFT standards are calibrated so that the effort required to reach each score is comparable across categories, even though the raw numbers differ.
Download the Official AFT standards
Every AFT standards scoring chart on this page comes from the official Army Fitness Test Score Tables, effective June 1, 2025. You can download the official PDF from Army.mil, or use the machine-readable AFT standards data — JSON and CSV — that powers this page and the calculator. Both exports include the source and the effective date, so you can cite them in a report, an article, or a unit briefing without losing the paper trail.
How the 2025 Tables Differ from Legacy Charts
The AFT standards scoring chart replaced the ACFT tables on June 1, 2025. The ACFT used six events and a different points curve; the AFT keeps five events with a cleaner 100-point-per-event scale. If you are looking at an old ACFT scoring chart for reference, remember it does not apply to current AFT standards scoring — the current tables govern every record test from June 1, 2025 onward, and the Combat standard deadline only tightens the requirement for combat arms over 2026.
Reading Edge Cases: Missing Rows and Null Values
Some rows in the official AFT standards scoring chart are not published for every event — the deadlift and two-mile run have gaps in the middle point range. When a row is missing, the closest published row governs: read to the nearest value at or below your performance for rep and weight events, and the nearest value at or above your time for timed events. The army fitness test calculator applies the same rule automatically, and the tables show missing values as a dash so you are never left guessing.
How Leaders Use the AFT standards scoring chart
NCOs and officers use the AFT standards scoring chart to counsel Soldiers, set unit standards, and plan training. A squad leader can look at a Soldier's score and immediately identify the weakest event, then prescribe the right training block. For unit readiness, the AFT standards chart turns raw event results into a single comparable number — the army fitness test score — that leadership can track across the formation. Every leader should be able to read the AFT standards chart in under a minute: age group, column, event, points.
Why the Army Uses Age-Normed Scoring
Age-normed scoring adjusts the AFT standards by age group, because the same absolute performance does not represent the same effort at 22 and at 52. Older Soldiers face adjusted thresholds, while younger Soldiers are held to the physical standard for their age group. The AFT standards scoring chart therefore has no single "passing time" — every pass is relative to your age group and your category.
Score Verification: Check Your Work
Before you trust any number, verify it. Read your age group and category, find your event, and check that you used the right direction — higher for the deadlift and push-ups, faster for the timed events. Then confirm your total against the 60-point floor and the 350/300 pass lines. The army fitness test calculator does all of this automatically, and because it shares the same data as this AFT standards scoring chart, a manual check and a calculator check should always agree.
Common Misconceptions About the AFT standards scoring chart
Three misconceptions send Soldiers to the wrong conclusion about the AFT standards scoring chart. First, "a 300 total means I passed" — only if every event also clears 60. Second, "faster is always more points" — true only for the three timed events; the deadlift and push-ups reward heavier and more repetitions. Third, "the AFT standards chart is the same for everyone" — the AFT standards scoring chart has ten age groups and two categories, so there is no universal table. Read your column before you read your score, and read your weakest event before you celebrate your total.
How to Explain Your Army Fitness Test Score in Counseling
For a counseling session, bring your army fitness test score and the event-by-event breakdown: the total out of 500 and the lowest event. A counselor needs two things: whether you clear your standard, and whether you have a weak link. The AFT standards scoring chart shows both, so the conversation can focus on which event needs work.
Mobile Use: the AFT standards chart in Your Pocket
The AFT standards scoring chart is used on phones as well as computers, so every table on this page scrolls horizontally on a small screen with the header row pinned. Tap any event tab to switch tables; the 60-point row is highlighted on each table.
The Alternate Events Table Explained
The final section of the official AFT standards scoring chart covers alternate aerobic events: the 2.5-mile walk, 5,000-meter row, 12,000-meter bike, and 1,000-meter swim. These are not points-curved like the five main events — they are pass/fail, with a GO earning a fixed 70 points. Combat specialists on permanent profile must average 70 points across the events they take, and the alternate table shows the GO standard for each of the four alternatives so Soldiers on profile can plan their test the same way everyone else does.
Records, Promotion, and the AFT standards scoring chart
The AFT standards scoring chart is the reference behind your record. Record AFTs begin with the June 1, 2025 rollout, and any new record test after that date is scored on the AFT standards scoring chart. If you are building a record or promotion packet, print your event-by-event army fitness test score from this chart or the calculator so the board sees the breakdown, not just a pass. For the latest promotion scoring rules, see the current Army promotion guidance.
Data Asset: JSON and CSV Exports
Because this AFT standards scoring chart is generated from a machine-readable data asset, we publish the same AFT standards as JSON and CSV. Developers can build tools on it, researchers can cite it, and AI assistants can pull exact values instead of approximations. Every export carries the source — Army Fitness Test Score Tables, effective June 1, 2025 — so the numbers stay traceable from our page back to the official publication.
Quick Answers Before You Scroll
The passing minimum is 60 points on every event. The maximum is 100 per event and 500 total. Combat passes at 350, General at 300. Ten age groups, two categories, five events. The AFT standards scoring chart below has the details; the army fitness test calculator applies the same tables to a full set of results.
The Youngest and Oldest Age Groups
The two ends of the AFT standards scoring chart get the most questions. The 17-21 group has the highest performance expectations, because young Soldiers are expected to be at peak physical condition. The Over 62 group sets adjusted standards that still require real fitness. Every age group uses the same 60-point floor and the same 350/300 pass totals; only the underlying performance levels change.
How to Read a Full Row on the AFT standards scoring chart
A full row on the AFT standards scoring chart runs from the points column across ten age groups and both categories. Pick the column for your age group and category, then follow that column down to your performance. The value in the row where your result meets the requirement is your score. The same row also tells you your margin: if you sit two rows above the 60-point line, you have two points of buffer on that event — enough to plan around a bad day, not enough to ignore.
The F Column Walkthrough
A female Soldier in the 22-26 age group reads the F column of the hand-release push-up table. The F standard for 100 points sits below the M/C standard, because the AFT standards calibrate effort, not raw numbers. That does not make the F column easier — it makes the required effort comparable. When you read your army fitness test score, use the column you actually test under, and never mix M/C and F values in the same calculation.
When to Use the AFT standards chart vs the Calculator
The AFT standards scoring chart is for understanding; the calculator is for speed. Use the AFT standards chart when you want to learn how scoring works, check a single event against the table, or verify a number by hand. Use the calculator when you have all five results and want the total, the pass status, and the weak-event alert instantly. Both use the same AFT standards, so the answer never changes — only the effort needed to get it.
A Final Word on the AFT standards scoring chart
The AFT standards scoring chart converts raw performance — pounds, repetitions, minutes and seconds — into points, using the same tables for every age group and category. The 60-point floor applies to every event. Bookmark this page, download the official PDF or the data export, and verify your army fitness test score against the tables before any record test.

Frequently Asked Questions
Direct answers about AFT standards scoring and standards.
What is the AFT standards scoring system?
Each of the five events is scored 0-100, for a maximum total of 500, using tables by age group and M/C or F category.
What is a passing army fitness test score?
Combat specialties pass at 350; all other Soldiers pass at 300. Every event must score at least 60 points.
How many points is each AFT event worth?
Up to 100 points. Five events times 100 points equals the 500-point maximum.
What are the army fitness test age groups?
Ten: 17-21, 22-26, 27-31, 32-36, 37-41, 42-46, 47-51, 52-56, 57-61, and Over 62.
What is the difference between M/C and F standards?
The official AFT standards tables publish M (male), C (combat), and F (female) columns. This page combines M and C because they use the same values; C is the sex-neutral, age-normed combat standard. Each age group has both M/C and F columns.
How do I read the AFT score table?
Find your age group and category, then read to your performance. More reps or weight equals more points; faster times equal more points.
Do faster times always earn more points?
For the sprint-drag-carry and two-mile run, faster times earn more points. For the plank, longer holds earn more points.
Can I download the AFT standards?
Yes. The official PDF is available from Army.mil, and this page offers the JSON/CSV data export.
What changed in the 2026 AFT standards?
The AFT standards scoring tables took effect June 1, 2025 and remain current. Beginning January 1, 2026, the updated combat standard applies to Active Component Soldiers in designated combat MOSs; Reserve and National Guard implementation followed June 1, 2026.
Where can I check my army fitness test score?
Use the free army fitness test calculator, which applies these exact AFT standards to your results.
What does a 100-point army fitness test score require?
The top of the AFT standards chart — for the 22-26 M/C group, a 350-pound deadlift, 61 push-ups, 1:30 sprint-drag-carry, 3:35 plank, and 13:25 two-mile run.
Can I fail the AFT with a high total?
Yes. One event below 60 points fails the army fitness test even if the other four events score perfectly.
Where do the AFT standards come from?
The official Army Fitness Test Score Tables published with the AFT rollout on June 1, 2025, plus Army Directive 2025-06 for pass standards.
